So, we're a little behind on starting up the blog, but better late than never, right? Little Miss Maia Ellin was born on February 20, 2008. Mom labored for a long time but, stubborn like her dad, Maia decided that getting into birthing position just wasn't on her agenda that day and so Mom had to be cut open and Maia was pulled out screaming like a banshee. I would be screaming too if my forehead had been deformed into a distinctly Klingon-like shape, like hers was:
Luckily, her head was back to normal in less than an hour and apparently she has forgiven me for trying to push her out in such and awkward configuration. I guess we're even considering the saggy belly and stretch marks I've taken away from the experience.
So now it's been 4 weeks and we're starting to get the hang of this parenting thing. We'll do our best to keep this site updated with photos and other tidbits!

Dear Miai and crew,
I love the blog. It's a great way for us all to follow along on your families adventures. And since you are both are very clever and entertaining and I can only believe little Miai will be right ther challenging you both to keep up with her in those departments. She is so cute it and it was such a privledge to be with you as she was welcomed with so much love.
